Frequently Asked QuestionsCONFIDENTIALITY
Our therapists adhere to the BACP code of ethics on confidentiality and will appropriately report:
A disclosure of ongoing abuse/neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
If he/she considers a client to be a danger to him/herself or to others. Where there is a legal obligation to do so.
- The therapist would normally first discuss the situation with the client, encourage him or her to participate in the disclosure, and support them in doing this. Our therapists will not discuss what occurs in your therapy except in supervision which is in accordance with the BACP code of Ethics.
What Will Happen if I Cancel or Miss a Session?
Vitality encourages regularity and continuity in therapy, as they give a feeling of reliability and structure to the process. You and your therapist will agree on the days and times of your meetings (normally weekly) and those times will then be set aside for you.
If you need to cancel an appointment for any reason please let us have as much notice as possible. If you are unable to give a weeks notice or you miss a session a cancellation charge of the normal fee for the session will be charged.
Your therapist will let you know in advance of his/her holidays, during which time no fee is due.
